SEMARANG, Indonesia — Seven students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (UNIMUS) participated in the Tropical Aquaculture (TropAqua) Summer Camp 2026, an international academic program hosted by the Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Diponegoro University (UNDIP), from 3–6 August 2026. Held under the theme “Shaping the Future of Tropical Aquaculture in a Changing Climate,” the inaugural TropAqua Summer Camp brought together 16 participants from 11 countries, providing an opportunity for students to learn, collaborate, and exchange cultural experiences in an international academic environment. The program featured academic sessions on brackishwater aquaculture, freshwater aquaculture, catfish farming business, and climate change, as well as practical activities including fish restocking at Jatibarang Reservoir. Participants also experienced Indonesian culture through a batik workshop, cultural exchange activities, and Independence Day celebrations. For the seven UNIMUS students, participation in TropAqua provided valuable opportunities to interact and collaborate with students from different countries, broaden their international perspectives, and develop intercultural communication and professional networks. The program also reflects the importance of internationalization through cross-university collaboration and international exposure at home, enabling students to gain global experiences without necessarily travelling abroad. The organizers plan to develop TropAqua as an annual program, creating further opportunities for students to engage in international academic and cultural exchange. Through their participation in TropAqua 2026, UNIMUS students contributed to and benefited from an international learning environment, strengthening the university’s commitment to developing students with global perspectives and collaborative capabilities.
UNIMUS Secures 1st Place at AKD 2026 LLDIKTI Region VI Level, Advances to National Competition
SEMARANG – Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (UNIMUS) has achieved another outstanding accomplishment. UNIMUS successfully secured 1st Place in the category of Higher Education Institutions with the Most Impactful Government/NGO Cooperation at the 2026 Diktisaintek Cooperation Award (AKD) selection at the LLDIKTI Region VI level. Following this remarkable achievement, UNIMUS has been officially recommended to represent LLDIKTI Region VI at the 2026 National Diktisaintek Cooperation Award (AKD) Selection. This recognition stands as a testament to UNIMUS’s strong commitment to building strategic, sustainable, and impactful collaborations. The university continues to foster synergy with government bodies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), business and industrial sectors, as well as various national and international partners. We extend our deepest gratitude to all partners, the academic community, and supporters who have been an integral part of this collaborative journey.
