Semarang, 2014| Friday, 26 September 2014. Religious atmosphere can be felt on the campus of University of Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus). Syeikh Muhammad Rifa`i Ali an Expert Lecturer andUlama from Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt and messenger from Attaché of Higher Education in the Embassy of Egypt to Republic of Indonesia visits Unimus. He is welcomed by Rector of Unimus Prof. Dr. H. Djamaluddin Darwis, M.A., Dean of Fikkes H. Edy Soesanto, S.Kp., M.Kep., and an Arabic translator Mamdukh Budiman, S.S. He visits Unimus to teach students and give spiritual enlightenment. He also teaches Unimus students Arabic. This is a progress of Unimus fellow in strengthening international relation with the Middle East
Language is a developing reality that grows according to the growth of its users. Language reality in our life reinforces human existence as cultured and religious being. The power of human existence as cultured and religious being can be seen on their ability to make great achievement such as science, technology, and the arts that cannot be separated from the role of used language. While the role of foreign language nowadays is considered as an obligation in today’s globalization era and the advancement in intellectual aspect. Arabic is an official language used by all Muslims. Besides being language of religion (Islam), paradigmatic development of Arabic at the moment goes forward as introductory language to science and profession
Unimus is trying to broaden its connection particularly in Middle Eastern countries such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and Egypt. This cooperative initiation is the realization of the vision and mission of Unimus as World Class University. It is further achieved by the following programmes such as student exchange, lecturer exchange, scholarship, and job placement to Unimus graduates. Research across the countries is also conducted.
