A Benchmark of International and Cooperation Affairs Office (KUIK)

kerjasama_bench_1-300x239Office of International and Cooperation Affairs (KUIK) of UNIMUS is a new institution that was officially legalized with SK Rector Number 069/UNIMUS/SK.KP/2014 on 24 November 2014. This institution hierarchy is under the Vice Rector III in Student and Cooperation Affairs. KUIK’s objective is to serve international affairs (scholarships, student exchange, academic visit, research collaborations) and also develop cooperation (MoU) with foreign universities in improving UNIMUS capacity to be “A University for the Excellence“.

Dr. Djoko Setyo Hartono, S.E., M.M., S.H., M.Kn., (Vice Rector III) in his speech said “The establishment of an institution that serves in international and cooperation affairs is aimed at strengthening UNIMUS position as good quality educational institution and to be competitive institution on international level in the future.“ 6/1/2015.kerjasama_bench_3-300x233

On Wednesday 24 December 2014, as it was stated in a letter from Vice Rector III No. 371/UNIMUS/KS/2014, KUIK UNIMUS conducted its first visit as regards comparative study and partnership in the office of International Affairs (KUI), University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP). On this visit, KUIK UNIMUS was welcomed by Ir. Regawa Bayu Pamungkas, M.T. (Assistant of Rector IV UMP) and Shanty Herawati, Ph.D. (Chief of Cooperation and Development Division UMP).

“Strategy implementation such as initiate communication and strengthen communication among KUI institutions on national level and Muhammadiyah Universities in Indonesia will help to enlarge connection“ said Shanty Herawati, Ph.D. She also added that KUI should be able to get cooperation opportunity as much as possible with foreign universities through (1) correspondence, (2) offering of a visit, (3) confirmation of information that can be followed up.

Besides discussing above relevant topics, on this visit KUIK UNIMUS also talked about the initiation of Darmasiswa scholarship programme for foreign students on campus, through Indonesian government programme and foreign countries programme. A programme offered by Board of Foreign Cooperation DIKTI and that has already been conducted by UMP is “Bahasa Indonesia untuk Penutur Asing“ or BIPA (“Bahasa Indonesia for Native Speaker“).

Cooperation, Correspondence, and Information

KUIK UNIMUS is now opening an offer of cooperation with embassy foreign countries to participate in CORNER KUIK that provides books about foreign cultures, scholarship information, and cooperation programme. In addition, KUIK UNIMUS also asks and gives opportunity to scholarship donors such as AMINEF, DAAD, NUFFIC/NESO, IDB, AusAID, and other scholarship donors to visit and inform their programme at UNIMUS.
