Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (UNIMUS) continues to expand its global research network through its participation in the preparation of an international collaborative research project with KU Leuven and VLIR-UOS Belgium, supported by the European Union Research Grant 2026–2031. A discussion meeting held on 5 June 2026 focused on the preparation of the collaboration contract and the implementation plan for the project entitled “Enhancing Milk Safety and Processing Stability in Indonesian Smallholder Dairy Systems through In Vitro–In Silico Data Integration.” The project brings together leading academic institutions from Indonesia and Belgium to address challenges in dairy safety and sustainability through innovative scientific approaches. A significant outcome of the meeting was the opportunity for UNIMUS to nominate and send a qualified PhD candidate in the field of Food Studies, who will receive scholarship support as part of the project’s implementation. This opportunity demonstrates the growing international recognition of UNIMUS and its commitment to developing highly qualified researchers capable of contributing to global scientific advancement. The meeting also resulted in an agreement among project partners regarding budget-sharing mechanisms and operational arrangements to ensure the successful implementation of the five-year research program. Through this collaboration, UNIMUS further strengthens its role in international research partnerships while creating valuable opportunities for academic development, research capacity building, and global engagement for its faculty members and future researchers. This initiative reflects UNIMUS’ commitment to fostering impactful international collaborations and supporting the advancement of research that addresses real-world challenges at both national and global levels.
