Cooperate with Dongseo University Korea the University of Muhammadiyah Semarang Launch Korean Center 2017

14Semarang  Central Java of Indonesia, on Monday (29 month 05 year 2017) University of Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) held grand opening Korean Center. Which is housed in an integrated laboratory building. The Korean Center was inaugurated by the Rector of Muhammadiyah University of Semarang (Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd.) and President of Dongseo University, Korea (Prof. Dr. Jekuk Chang). Also attending the event were the Chairman of the Primary and Secondary Education Council, Muhammadiyah Central Java Regional Leadership (Dr. Iwan Junaidi), Representatives from other universities in Semarang, as well as Principals and students of private and public high schools and vocational schools in Central Java, Special Region of Jogjakarta and East Java.

Korean Center of Muhammadiyah University of Semarang whose opening ceremony was inaugurated by the Rector of Muhammadiyah University of Semarang, and President of Dongeso University (DSU), Korea marked by ribbon cutting. On the occasion, the Rector said that Korean Corner (Center) was pioneered as a cultural center and Korean language for students or students who will study further to Korea.

25“Korean Center will prepare the best students and students who will study further to Korea” added Rector. President of Dongeso University korea, in his speech expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Muhammadiyah University of Semarang Central Java Indonesia in preparing students and students who will study further in Korea through Korean Center.

Prof. Dr. Jekuk Chang also explained that many scholarship programs are offered for further study at Dongeso University in korea. Dean of International Cooperation Dongeso University korea (Prof. Dr. Chan Chung) who attended the event also added that for further study in korea it takes certain requirements such as the ability of Korean language and good English ability, and it can be done Via Korean Center.

Head of the Office for International Affairs and Cooperation (KUIK) Muhammadiyah University of Semarang, (Muhammad Yusuf, PhD) added that the Korean Center established by cooperating with Dongseo University Korea, is a follow-up of the cooperation of both parties, and is under the control of the Office of International Affairs and Cooperation and Language Development Unit of Muhammadiyah aUniversity of Semarang.

Yusuf, PhD also added that the Korean Center will be provided with a Korean and English language training and at the end of the training will be tested to find out if the participants are competent in terms of language, and culture, to be able to study further in Korea. “Korean Center will bring staff and books from Dongseo University Korea for Korean Language and Culture learning for High and Vocational High School students and students, who will study further to Korea” said Yusuf
